The Graduate Christian Union is student-run organisation playing a unique and exciting role at Oxford University. In short, we are a community of Oxford graduate students (diverse in both national origin and academic discipline) who have come together to encourage and challenge each other in our personal journeys of faith.

But what does faith look like in the heady academic clutter of Oxford postgraduate life? How can we reconcile the intensity of thought we encounter within our specific disciplines with Christian faith and action? And as graduate students with very particular needs, where can we find the meaningful relationships and support we need to develop spiritually and otherwise during our time at Oxford?

The GCU hopes to meet Oxford post-grads at exactly these points. We provide a weekly discussion forums, Bible and book studies, and social events where students can find friendship and conversation around practical and ethical issues of contemporary Christian life and postgraduate study.

Our Monday night Forum's are held from 7-9pm, each week of term. Our first meeting will be on Monday 8th Oct 2007 at St Johns College Auditorium. After that, we shall meet regularly at New College, lecture room 6. At any meeting you can expect a low key, informal environment, an engaging, thought-provoking speaker, and a lot of stimulating discussion. It's perfect if you just want to pop in and see what's going on... Stop by, have a drink or some food, and meet some new people. It could be exactly the type of thing you've been looking for...
